RELATING TO HOUSING.

Creates the housing incentive fund to be administered by the Hawaii public housing authority.  Allows the fund to be seeded with general obligation bonds.  Creates a tax credit for individuals or corporations who contribute to the fund.

RELATING TO THE LOW-INCOME HOUSING TAX CREDIT.

Changes tax credit allocation for partnerships and corporations.  Makes inoperative at risk and passive activity loss rules with respect to certain low-income building.

Establishes the procedures for a housing savings account for all employees in the State.

RELATING TO HOUSING ELEMENTS.

Requires each county to prepare a housing supply plan to plan for projected increases in the State's housing supply to meet housing demands of the respective county, identify and analyze existing and projected housing needs for all income levels, and identify adequate sites for housing, including rental housing.

SB 2205

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO IMPORTANT HOUSING LANDS.

Establishes that important housing lands are public lands owned by the State that are located within 0.5 miles of any rail mass transit station and needed to promote the expansion of available housing for the future.  Requires the State and counties to identify and designate important housing lands.  Appropriates funds.
