STAND. COM. REP. NO.  797-20

Honolulu, Hawaii

                , 2020

RE:   H.C.R. No. 34

Honorable Scott K. Saiki

Speaker, House of Representatives

Thirtieth State Legislature

Regular Session of 2020

State of Hawaii

Sir:

Your Committees on Transportation and Tourism & International Affairs, to which was referred H.C.R. No. 34 entitled:

"HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE WALL STREET JOURNAL INCLUDE HAWAIIAN AIRLINES IN THE NEWSPAPER'S FUTURE RANKINGS OF THE BEST AND WORST AIRLINES IN THE UNITED STATES,"

beg leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this measure is to request The Wall Street Journal to include Hawaiian Airlines in the newspaper's future rankings of the best and worst airlines in the United States.

Your Committees received testimony in support of this measure from Hawaiian Airlines and four individuals.  Your Committees received testimony in opposition to this measure from one individual.

Your Committees find that Hawaiian Airlines is celebrating its sixteenth consecutive year as the nation's top carrier for on-time performance and consistently ranks highly in customer-service rankings.  As such, it should be included in The Wall Street Journal's airline rankings.

As affirmed by the records of votes of the members of your Committees on Transportation and Tourism & International Affairs that are attached to this report, your Committees concur with the intent and purpose of H.C.R. No. 34 and recommend its adoption.

Respectfully submitted on behalf of the members of the Committees on Transportation and Tourism & International Affairs,
