RELATING TO INVASIVE SPECIES.

Appropriates funds to the Department of Land and Natural Resources for the substantial reduction and eradication of certain invasive species in Maui County.

RELATING TO RAPID OHIA DEATH.

Appropriates funds to the Department of Land and Natural Resources for containment and prevention of the spread of pathogens causing rapid ohia death in Kauai county, including funds to be used in collaboration with the Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii and the Kauai Invasive Species Council.

Status

RELATING TO AGRICULTURAL EMERGENCIES.

Specifies the conditions in which the Board of Agriculture can submit a request to the Governor to declare an agricultural emergency, consistent with chapter 127A, HRS.  Requires the Department of Agriculture to develop and implement measures to respond to the agricultural emergency.  Establishes the Agricultural Emergency Trust Fund.  Appropriates funds.

Status

RELATING TO FOOD SAFETY.

Requires and appropriates funds to the Department of Agriculture to partner with the Hawaii agriculture community to establish a food safety certification training program to assist small to medium sized farms to comply with the United States Department of Agriculture Good Agricultural Practices Certification Program.

Status

RELATING TO SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM INCENTIVES.

Requires the Department of Agriculture to create a dollar-for-dollar matching program for beneficiaries of the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program who use their benefits to purchase Hawaii-grown produce.  Appropriates funds.

Status

RELATING TO HEALTH.

Requires the Department of Health to educate food establishments about liability protections.  Expands liability protection for donors to include donations of food and similar donations made directly to needy persons.  Authorizes the donation of expired food when the donor believes in good faith that the food remains fit for human consumption.

Status

RELATING TO COFFEE LABELING.

Expands the coffee labeling requirements to include ready-to-drink coffee beverages.

RELATING TO COFFEE LABELING.

Requires coffee blend labels to disclose regional origins and percent by weight of the blended coffees.  Prohibits using geographic origins of coffee in labeling or advertising for roasted or instant coffee that contains less than 51 percent coffee by weight from that geographic origin.

Status

RELATING TO AGRICULTURE.

Expands the offense of false labeling of Hawaii-grown coffee to include grade standard violations and all stages of production of Hawaii-grown coffee.
