A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE FOURTEENTH, FIFTEENTH, AND SIXTEENTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICTS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2018-2019:
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Elsie H. Wilcox elementary school, Kauai
Design and construction for a covered drop off area for students; and ground and site improvements.
Design $340,000
Construction $1,700,000
Total funding $2,040,000
B. Hanalei elementary school, Kauai
Design and construction for new portables; ground and site improvements.
Design $150,000
Construction $2,350,000
Total funding $2,500,000
C. Kapaa elementary school, Kauai
Construction and equipment for a new library; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.
Construction $3,130,000
Equipment $70,000
Total funding $3,200,000
D. Kapaa high school, Kauai
Design and construction for parking lot and drainage improvements; ground and site improvements.
Design $350,000
Construction $2,150,000
Total funding $2,500,000
E. Kauai high school, Kauai
Design and construction for locker room improvements.
Design $110,000
Construction $642,200
Total funding $752,200
2. To be expended by the department of land and natural resources:
A. Kikiaola small boat harbor, Kauai
Design and construction for site improvements; and ground and site improvements.
Design $500,000
Construction $1,500,000
Total funding $2,000,000
B. Russian Fort Elizabeth state historical park, Kauai
Construction for site improvements including reroofing the comfort station; plumbing repairs; walking path, shoreline access, and parking lot improvements; and ground and site improvements.
Construction $950,000
Total funding $950,000
C. Waimea river mouth sand relocation, Kauai
Construction for clearing the Waimea river mouth; and ground and site improvements.
Construction $1,500,000
Total funding $1,500,000
SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2018.
