Authorizes the issuance of general obligation bonds for rental housing, mixed-use affordable rental housing, a multi-use juvenile services and shelter center, and public housing.  Appropriates funds for public housing security improvements, renovation, and repairs.  (HB488 HD2)

RELATING TO APPROPRIATIONS TO ADDRESS HOMELESSNESS.

Appropriates funds to the Department of Human Services for the coordinated statewide homeless initiative, subject to certain conditions.  (HB1240 HD2)

RELATING TO HOMELESS SHELTERS.

Provides that emergency shelters may have partitioned space for homeless persons or families based on Department of Human Services (DHS) guidelines.  Extends the emergency or transitional shelter compliance requirements per Act 234, Session Laws of Hawaii (SLH) 2016, for contracts between DHS and emergency or transitional shelter provider agencies for one year.  Extends the effective date of Act 234, SLH 2016.  (HB1098 HD2)

REQUESTING THE AUDITOR TO CONDUCT A STUDY TO ASSESS THE IMPACT OF USING MEDICAID FUNDS TO PROVIDE COVERAGE FOR THE TREATMENT FOR HOMELESSNESS.
