A BILL FOR AN ACT

RELATING TO FIRE SPRINKLERS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  Act 83, Session Laws of Hawaii 2012, is amended by amending section 3 to read as follows:

     "SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2012; provided that on June 30, [2017,]       , this Act shall be repealed."

     SECTION 2.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon a date to be determined.

Description:

Extends the prohibition that prevents the counties from requiring fire sprinklers in specific family dwelling units and non-residential agricultural and aquacultural buildings.  (HB1384 HD2)
