     Your Committee on Consumer Protection & Commerce, to which was referred S.B. No. 514, S.D. 1, entitled:

 

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO HEALTH,"

 

begs leave to report as follows:

 

     The purpose of this measure is to authorize pharmacists to administer human papillomavirus, Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis), meningococcal, and influenza vaccines to eleven- through seventeen-year-old patients pursuant to a valid prescription.

 

     The Department of Health, Board of Pharmacy, Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, Planned Parenthood Votes Northwest and Hawaii, American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, The CHOW Project, Hawaii Pharmacists Association, Hawaii Medical Service Association, CVS Health, Walgreen Co., Times Pharmacy, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, and numerous concerned individuals testified in support of this measure.  Several concerned individuals testified in opposition to this measure.

 

     Your Committee has amended this measure by changing its effective date to July 1, 2059, to facilitate further discussion.

 

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Consumer Protection & Commerce that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of S.B. No. 514, S.D. 1, as amended herein, and recommends that it pass Third Reading in the form attached hereto as S.B. No. 514, S.D. 1, H.D. 1.
