RELATING TO HEALTH.

Appropriates funds to the department of human services to restore basic adult dental benefits to medicaid enrollees and to provide outreach and eligibility services for individuals and families at federally qualified health centers.  Appropriates funds from the community health centers special fund to establish health care homes.

Status

RELATING TO HEALTH CARE.

Requires the State to pay costs assessed on low-income Compacts of Free Association residents and other lawfully present legal permanent residents who receive health care through the Hawaii Health Connector and would otherwise be eligible for Medicaid except for their citizenship status.  Requires the Department of Human Services to engage in community outreach.  Appropriates funds.

RELATING TO AGING.

Part I:  Appropriates funds for the kupuna care program and an aging and disability resource center.  Part II:  Removes hiring requirement by director of health in accordance with chapters 76 and 89, Hawaii Revised Statutes, for the position of Alzheimer's disease and related dementia services coordinator.  Appropriates funds for the Alzheimer's disease and related dementia services coordinator.  Part III:  Appropriates funds for fall prevention and early detection services for the elderly.  Part IV:  Appropriates funds for various senior center programs.  Part V:  Appropriates funds to support the healthy aging partnership program.  Part VI:  Appropriates funds for an Alzheimer's disease and related dementia public awareness campaign.

RELATING TO COMMUNITY CARE FOSTER FAMILY HOMES.

Authorizes the Department of Health to allow two private-pay individuals to be cared for in the same community care foster family home if certain requirements are met.

RELATING TO EXPANDED ADULT RESIDENTIAL CARE HOMES.

Increases the capacity from two to three nursing facility level residents in Type I Expanded Adult Residential Care Homes.  Sunsets June 30, 2018.
