Pursuant to Senate Concurrent Resolution 107, Senate Draft 1, House Draft 1, the 2015 Legislative Family Caregivers Working Group is convening to examine and assess issues related to family caregivers.

The purpose of this informational briefing is to brief the Legislative Family Caregivers Working Group on the challenges facing caregivers in Hawaii and the opportunities to improve the system of caregiving and community support for caregivers. 

The invitees to this Informational Briefing include representatives from the following advocacy groups:

▪ AARP Hawaii;

▪ Kokua Council;

▪ Policy Advisory Board for Elder Affairs;

▪ Hawaii Family Caregiver Coalition;

▪ Project Dana; and

▪ Hawaii Alliance for Retired Americans.

In addition to representatives from the above advocacy groups, Charlotte A. Carter Yamauchi, Acting Director of the Legislative Reference Bureau, Devin Choy, Research Attorney, and/or representatives from the Legislative Reference Bureau have been invited to provide an overview of Senate Bill 296, Regular Session of 2015, and laws enacted by other state legislatures with elements of theCARE Act proposal.

No public testimony will be accepted.
