Pursuant to Senate Concurrent Resolution 107, Senate Draft 1, House Draft 1, the 2015 Legislative Family Caregivers Working Group is convening to examine and assess issues related to family caregivers.

The purpose of this informational briefing is to brief the Legislative Family Caregivers Working Group on the community resources and/or support services available for family caregivers; the role of the State Executive Office on Aging (EOA), the County Offices of Aging, and Aging & Disability Resource Centers (ADRC), and other community organizations in training family caregivers and providing general assistance to family caregivers; the funding of the EOA and the County Offices on Aging; challenges facing the EOA and County Offices of Aging to meet their statutory mandates; and opportunities for policymakers to improve the training of family caregivers and provide support to family caregivers.  The invitees to this Informational Briefing include:

Terri Byers, Director, Caroline Cadirao, Supervisor, Grants Manager, or designee(s), State Executive Office on Aging;

Nalani Aki, Director, or designee(s), Elderly Affairs Division, Department of Community Services, City & County of Honolulu;

C. Kimo Alameda, Director or designee(s), Hawai‘i County Office of Aging; &

Deborah Stone-Walls, Director or designee(s), Maui County Office on Aging.

No public testimony will be accepted.
