The purpose of this informational briefing is to receive a joint update from the following agencies, on the statewide need for housing in Hawaii, broken down by household income level, geographic area, approximate number of units that are rental versus for sale, the approximate number of housing units by bedroom size, estimated start and completion dates of housing projects, who will be doing the work and estimated costs to the taxpayer and/or amount to be paid for by the private sector.

In addition, an update on the accomplishments of the respective agencies within the past two years, their goals and action plans for the next six years (by two-year increments) and what the Legislature, Honolulu City Council, other three county councils, and the private sector needs to do to accomplish this aggressive timeline.
