RELATING TO TRANSPORTATION. Requires motor vehicle safety inspections to be conducted every two years rather than annually. (HB1089 HD1)

RELATING TO AGRICULTURE. Directs public utilities to establish discounted utility rates for agricultural activities.

RELATING TO ACTIVITY DESKS. Requires activity desks to designate fiduciaries in case of certain business closures and to submit monthly financial reports to DCCA. Exempts from the law certain activity desks that operate without compensation. (HB723 HD1)

RELATING TO TIME SHARING. Provides cancellation rights to persons who contract to buy a short-term product in Hawaii. Allows disbursement of purchasers' funds to a developer; provided that the developer first posts a bond, letter of credit, or other financial assurance. (HB271 HD1)

RELATING TO NURSES. Beginning with the July 1, 2017, licensing biennium, requires licensed registered nurses and licensed practical nurses to submit evidence of completed continuing competency requirements prior to the renewal of the license. (HB354 HD1)

RELATING TO VACCINATIONS. Authorizes pharmacists to administer vaccines to persons between 14 and 17 years of age who have a prescription from a collaborating physician or advanced practice registered nurse. RELATING TO THE HAWAII HEALTH INSURANCE EXCHANGE. Amends the definition of "qualified plan" under the Hawaii Health Insurance Exchange to include a health benefit plan that meets the criteria for certification under the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and is deemed to be a silver plan, a gold plan, or a platinum plan. DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW
Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony no later than 24 hours prior to the hearing. Persons submitting testimony on the day of the hearing MUST submit 22 copies at the hearing. Staff will not be able to make copies. Testimony should indicate:
· Testifier's name with position/title and organization;
· The Committee(s) to which the comments are directed;
· The date and time of the hearing; and
· Measure number.
While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website. This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
