RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Requires the department of education to name the new public high school in Kihei, Maui, the "Patsy Takemoto Mink High School" in honor of the late United States Representative Patsy Takemoto Mink.

RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.

Establishes an interagency working group consisting of the chair of the senate committee on education, chair of the house of representatives committee on education, superintendent of education and comptroller, or their designees, and any other relevant parties.  Establishes an interagency working group consisting of the chair of the senate committee on education, chair of the house of representatives committee on education, superintendent of education and director of health, or their designees, and any other relevant parties.  Tasks both interagency working groups with discussing various issues relating to Act 51, Session Laws of Hawaii 2004.  Appropriates funds to the department of accounting and general services for additional positions on the islands of Maui, Hawaii, and Kauai.

RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.

Creates a five-year pilot project through which the department of education will contract for the design, planning, and installation of fourth generation modular design buildings on Hawaii's public school campuses.  Requires the department of education to report to the legislature.  Makes an appropriation.
