Status

RELATING TO RENEWABLE ENERGY.

Requires a contractor that installs a solar energy device to notify the private entity that installation might void the roofing warranties or guarantees.  Unless the private entity forgoes the roofing warranty or guarantee, requires a contractor that installs a solar energy device to obtain written approval from the roof manufacturer and follow written instructions for waterproofing roof penetrations from the roof manufacturer.  Requires a roofing contractor that waterproofs roof penetrations related to the installation of a solar energy device to honor the roof warranty or guarantee; provided that if either the roofing contractor's guaranty or the roofing manufacturer's warranty is no longer in effect, the contractor who installs the solar energy device and waterproofs the penetrations shall apply the contractor's or lessor's standard labor and workmanship warranty.  (SD2)

RELATING TO CONDOMINIUMS.

Clarifies the applicability of section 205-4.6, HRS, relating to private restrictions on agricultural uses and activities, to condominium projects on lands classified as agricultural.  (SD1)

RELATING TO BUREAU OF CONVEYANCES.

Extends the sunset date of Act 119, Session Laws of Hawaii 2013, relating to the deregistration of fee non-time share interests.  Clarifies the actions taken after a certificate of title for a fee time share interest is deregistered and marked canceled by the assistant registrar.

RELATING TO HOTEL CLASS LIQUOR LICENSES.

Amends the definition of "hotel" for purposes of qualification for a hotel class liquor license by deleting requirement that a hotel have a kitchen and dining room.

RELATING TO NURSING.

Replaces references to advanced practice registered nurse recognition with advanced practice registered nurse licensure to align Hawaii's law with national standards.

RELATING TO PODIATRISTS.

Allows a qualified podiatric physician to perform ankle fracture surgery. Conforms the definition of "podiatric medicine" to national standards regarding diagnosis and treatment of the foot and ankle.  (SB2467 HD1)

Status

RELATING TO CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR PSYCHOLOGISTS.

Requires psychologists in the State, beginning July 1, 2016, to complete a minimum of 18 credit hours of continuing education courses for each licensing renewal biennium.  Effective July 1, 2050.  (SB2465 HD1)

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony no later than 24 hours prior to the hearing.  Testimony should indicate:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee(s) to which the comments are directed;

·     The date and time of the hearing; and

·     Measure number. 

 

While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.  Persons submitting testimony day of hearing are required to bring in 20 copies for testimony to be accepted.  Those wishing to provide oral testimony will be limited to two minutes.   

 

Submit testimony in ONE of the following ways:

PAPER:  20 copies (including an original) to Room 314 in the State Capitol;

FAX:       For testimony less than 5 pages in length, transmit to 808-586-8437 (Oahu) or 1-800-535-3859 (for Neighbor Islander without a computer to submit testimony through e-mail or the Web); or

WEB:      For testimony less than 10MB in size, transmit from http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/submittestimony.aspx.

 

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
