Senator Brian Taniguchi currently serves as vice chair of the Commerce and Consumer Protection committee. He also sits as a member on the Education committee.
Senator Taniguchi represents Hawaii's 10th Senatorial District and has served in the Hawaii State Senate since 1994. Taniguchi represented Manoa, Mo‘ili‘ili, McCully, and Makiki communities as a State Representative from 1980 to 1994.
Born on November 7, 1951, Senator Taniguchi and his wife, Janice, have two children: Karli and Daniel. Senator Taniguchi is a graduate from Roosevelt High School and received a B.A. from the University of Hawaii in 1973. He continued his education receiving his J.D. from the University of Hawaii Richardson School of Law in 1978.
