Senator Brian Taniguchi currently serves as vice chair of the Commerce and Consumer Protection committee. He also sits as a member on the Education committee.

Senator Taniguchi represents Hawaii's 10th Senatorial District and has served in the Hawaii State Senate since 1994. Taniguchi represented Manoa, Mo&#8216;ili&#8216;ili, McCully, and Makiki communities as a State Representative from 1980 to 1994.

Born on November 7, 1951, Senator Taniguchi and his wife, Janice, have two children: Karli and Daniel. Senator Taniguchi is a graduate from Roosevelt High School and received a B.A. from the University of Hawaii in 1973. He continued his education receiving his J.D. from the University of Hawaii Richardson School of Law in 1978.
