Senator Les Ihara, Jr. currently serves as Majority Policy Leader, and also sits as a member on the Senate Committees on Water and Land, Energy and Environment, and Judicary and Labor.
Senator Ihara represents Hawai‘i's 10th Senatorial District and has served in the Hawai‘i State Senate since 1994. Ihara represented Palolo, Kaimuki, Kapahulu, and Diamond Head communities as a State Representative from 1986 to 1994.
Born on April 19, 1951, Senator Ihara is a graduate from Mid Pacific Institute and received a B.A. in Liberal Studies from the University of Hawai‘i.
