Speaker Emeritus Joseph M. Souki is currently the Chair of the Committee on Transportation.  He is a member of the Committee on Consumer Protection & Commerce, Judiciary, Labor & Public Employment and Public Safety.

Representative Souki has served in the Hawaii State Legislature since 1982.  He represents the 8th district, Wailuku, Waihee, Waiehu, Puuohala and Waikapu.

Representative Souki was born on April 25, 1932 in Puunene, Maui.  He is married to the former Frances Borge and has 2 children, Desiree and Mark.

Rep. Souki received a BBA from Woodbury University.
