State representative helps many during stormy weather

State representative Richard Fale says he reacted on instincts and helped get most of the stranded motorists to safety including a woman who had climbed onto the hood of her car.

On his drive from Hau'ula to town, Fale stopped at the flooded Waikane Bridge. He says three cars were stranded and the flood water was quickly rising. View full article

Rep. Fale Recognizes Kahuku High School For Athletic Excellence

Hawaii House of Representatives to Honor Kahuku High School Teams for Exceptional Athletic and Academic Achievement School produced state champion teams in varsity football and civic engagement

Two Kahuku High School teams will be recognized Monday for outstanding achievement. The 2012 Division I State Champion varsity football team earned a perfect 12-0 record and continues Kahuku's strong football tradition of excellence. Additionally, the school's "We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution" team won the state competition of the educational civic engagement program.

Finding signs of life in Hawaii's Republican Party can be frustrating - almost as frustrating as being a Republican in Hawaii. Hawaii's congressional delegation belongs to the Democrats - so, too, the governorship and both houses of the state Legislature.

Republican numbers are near record lows. They own but one seat in the 25-member state Senate, seven in the 51-member House of Representatives - and the latter number has changed little in recent years. The promise of Republican Linda Lingle's eight years as governor did not translate to legislative victories.
