A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to domestic violence.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $250,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2012-2013 to be deposited into the domestic violence and sexual assault special fund, established by section 321-1.3, Hawaii Revised Statutes.
SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the domestic violence and sexual assault special fund the sum of $250,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2012-2013 for services provided by domestic violence agencies that include preparing temporary restraining orders for clients, and assisting domestic violence victims in obtaining protective orders from family court; provided that these agencies continue to perform such services when the court is unable to provide such services on non-business days.
The sum appropriated shall be expended by the
department of health for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2012.
