AGENDA

 

The purpose of this informational briefing is to discuss the current practice of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) collection of convicted felons and the feasibility and practicality of extending the procedure to persons arrested for felony offenses.

 

Congressman Neil Abercrombie will be present to discuss this legislation.

 

Attorney General Mark Bennett will be available to answer any questions in regards to this legislation.

 

Prosecuting Attorney Peter Carlisle, or his designee has been invited to attend.

 

Public Defender Jack Tonaki, Chief Deputy Public Defender Timothy Ho, and Deputy Public Defender Susan Arnett, will be available to discuss this legislation.

 

ACLU Staff Attorneys Dan Gluck and Laurie Temple will be available to discuss this legislation.

 

Honolulu Police Department will provide a designee to be available to discuss this legislation.

 

All County Prosecutors and Police Departments have also been invited to participate in this informational briefing.
