Your Committee on Judiciary and Labor, to which was referred H.B. No. 2675, H.D. 2, S.D. 1, entitled:
"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO MEDICAL MARIJUANA,"
begs leave to report as follows:
The purpose of this measure is to establish a Medical Marijuana Task Force within the University of Hawaii for administrative purposes to examine current medical marijuana laws regarding adequate supply for qualified patients, developing safe growing facilities, and solutions for inter-island travel.
Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from Patients Without Time, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition, and twenty-nine individuals. Testimony in opposition was received from the Department of Public Safety. Comments were received from one individual.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Judiciary and Labor that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 2675, H.D. 2, S.D. 1, and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
