AGENDA:

 

 

The Hawaii State Constitution directs the Tax Review Commission to "conduct a systemic review of the State's tax structure, using such standards as equity and efficiency."  The 2005 – 2007 Tax Review Commission (Commission) submitted its report to the Legislature on December 1, 2006.  In it's report, the Commission makes recommendations on:

 

  • Overall Tax Policy,
  • Hawaii's Net Income Taxes,
  • The General Excise and Use Taxes,
  • The Streamlined Sales Tax Project,
  • The High-Technology Business Investment Tax Credit, and
  • The Administration of Taxes.

 

The Commission has been invited to brief the Joint Committees on the details of the recommendations made in its report.
