A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO INFECTIOUS DISEASE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 325, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§325- Required services to homeless population. (a) The department of health shall provide vaccination, treatment, and health education, as appropriate, to the homeless as defined in section 201G-451, for infectious and communicable diseases under this chapter.
(b) All state and county agencies providing services to the homeless shall:
(1) Give priority to the homeless in providing services under subsection (a); and
(2) Cooperate with the department of health for purposes of this section."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
