A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

RELATING TO FUEL TAX.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Chapter 243, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

"§243- Exemption of fuel tax for county transportation system. There shall be exempted from, and excluded from the measure of the taxes imposed by this chapter, all purchases of liquid fuel used by vehicles operated by a "county transportation system" as that term is defined under section 237-24.7(2)."

SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
