A BILL FOR AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE nineteenth SENATORIAL DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $9,478,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, for fiscal year 2002-2003, for the following capital improvements in the nineteenth senatorial district:
1. Waipahu Centennial Memorial
Design and construction of memorial
Total funding $250,000
2. Waipahu Intermediate School
a. Design, construction, and equipment for cafeteria
Total funding $3,000,000
b. Design, construction, and equipment for eight classroom building
Total funding $3,300,000
3. Pearl City Elementary School
Design, construction, and equipment for air conditioning system
Total funding $2,000,000
4. Waipahu High School
a. Construction and equipment for bleacher repair
Equipment $50,000
Construction $40,000
Total funding $90,000
b. Construction of two-way public address system in classrooms
Total funding $58,000
5. Honowai Elementary School
a. Upgrade and replace public address and intercom systems
Equipment $30,000
Construction $15,000
Total funding $45,000
b. Design, construction, and equipment to install air conditioning system in library
Equipment $150,000
Design $10,000
Construction $60,000
Total funding $220,000
6. Waipahu Elementary School
Design and construct alarm and security systems
Plans $3,000

Construction $209,000
Total funding $215,000
7. August Ahrens Elementary School
Resurface and restripe parking lot

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in this Act shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2002.
