A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE twenty-third SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $4,425,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, for fiscal year 2002-2003, for the following capital improvements in the twenty-third senatorial district:

1. Department of transportation

A. Kamehameha highway from Hygienic Store

Plans and design $600,000

Total funding $600,000

2. Department of accounting and general services

A. Kahuku high and intermediate school

Land purchase for school expansion $1,000,000

Total funding $1,000,000

B. Waiahole elementary school

Air conditioning for building D

Design and construction $250,000

Total funding $250,000

C. Laie elementary school

Classroom furniture

Construction $75,000

Total funding $75,000

D. Hauula elementary school

Electrical upgrade

Design and construction $150,000

Total funding $150,000

E. Castle high school

Replace athletic bleachers and

Construct storage shed for athletic field

Design and construction $2,000,000

Total funding $2,000,000

F. King intermediate school

Installation of covered bus port

Design and construction $350,000

Total funding $350,000

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2001.
