A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE fifteenth SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $            , or so much thereof as may be necessary, for fiscal year 2001-2002, for the following capital improvements in the fifteenth senatorial district:

1. Ka`ewai Elementary School

a. Stabilization of classroom buildings prior to other renovations $1,000,000

Total funding $1,000,000

2. Kalihi Elementary School

a. Installation of playground equipment; padded ground covers in 3 play areas $100,000

B. Resurface upper play court $70,000

C. Resurface and stripe staff parking $60,000

Total funding $230,000

3. Kalihi-Waena Elementary School

a. Air conditioning for library $80,000

B. Electrical upgrades $250,000

C. Extension of cafeteria parking lot $1

Total funding $1

4. Linapuni Elementary School

a. Expansion of temporary library $1

Total funding $1

5. Red Hill Elementary School

a. Covered walkways; planing, design, construction $131,000

B. Automatic water sprinkler system design and construction $23,000

Total funding $154,000

6. Shafter Elementary School

A. Air conditioning in library and library room $75,000

b. Automatic water sprinkler system $40,000

C. Ceiling fans in designated classrooms $25,000

D. LAN upgrades $50,000

E. Parking lot extension $25,000

F. Renovation of Building C lanai $50,000

Total funding $265,000

7. Likelike Highway

a. Design and construct noise barrier on Ewa side just before School Street $1

Total funding $1

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1, paragraphs 1 to 6, shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act.

The sum appropriated for the capital project set forth in section 1, paragraph 7, shall be expended by the department of transportation for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2002.
