A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to medicaid.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 346, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§346- Medicaid eligibility; enrollment; waiver replacement. (a) The department shall provide state-funded medical assistance, of up to three hundred per cent of the federal poverty level for Hawaii, to:
(1) All public employees;
(2) Retirees; and
(3) Uninsured residents,
in the State who are otherwise eligible for benefits under the State's Medicaid programs, including QUEST.
(b) The department shall adopt all optional services allowed under the Medicaid program.
(c) The State, through the department of human services, shall replace the existing 1115 waiver with the Health Insurance and Flexibility and Accountability demonstration initiative."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
