A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE EIGHTEENTH SENATE DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2002-2003:

1. To be expended by the department of transportation:

A. H-2 Freeway, Oahu

Plans, design, and construction of median strip guardrails from Waikakalua bridge to the Mililani interchange.

Construction $200,000

B. Kamehameha highway, Oahu

Plans for widening Kamehameha highway at

Kipapa gulch.

2. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:

A. Mililani public library, Oahu

Plans and design for expansion of existing parking lot.

B. Mililani Mauka II elementary school, Oahu

Equipment and construction to complete two-story, six-classroom building.

C. Kipapa elementary school, Oahu

Plans and design for student drop-off and pick-up access lane at front of school.

D. Kipapa elementary school, Oahu

Plans, design, equipment, and construction for a new civil defense siren outside Kipapa elementary school.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agencies for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2002.
