HOUSE RESOLUTION

 

congratulating hERMAN lEONG, robin kitsu, and georgia goeas as recipients of the 2001-2002 milken family foundation national educator award for their outstanding contributions to education in hawaii.

 

 

WHEREAS, as the growing complexity of modern society enhances the need for the people of the world to communicate, educate, and cooperate with one another, and the citizens of Hawaii recognize the efforts and accomplishments of those who have been dedicated to education; and

WHEREAS, sponsored by the Milken Family Foundation, the Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award Program, publicly recognizes outstanding elementary and secondary school teachers, principals, and other education professionals who are committed to furthering excellence in education; and

WHEREAS, the Milken Family Foundation has recognized HERMAN LEONG, ROBIN KITSU, and GEORGIA GOEAS for their outstanding service and dedication to the youth of Hawaii, with each to be awarded a monetary gift of $25,000; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-first Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2002, that this body hereby recognizes HERMAN LEONG, ROBIN KITSU, and GEORGIA GOEAS, for their outstanding commitment and dedication to the education of Hawaii's youth, congratulates them as recipients of the 2001-2002 Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award, and extends to all of them its warmest aloha and best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors; and
