HOUSE RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE 2002 NARCISSUS FESTIVAL QUEEN KUULEIALOHA CHUN AND THE MEMBERS OF HER COURT; first princess natalie louie, second princess sherri seto, third princess colette ching and fourth princess kaipolani chang.

WHEREAS, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii began its annual Narcissus Festival fifty three years ago to preserve and perpetuate culture among the Chinese Community; and

WHEREAS, like the Narcissus flower, a pure blossom of white that emerges from the cold of winter heralding the beauty and promise of Spring, the Narcissus Festival celebrates the beauty and strength of the Chinese culture, culminating in the selection of the Narcissus Festival Queen and her court, who will serve as goodwill ambassadors for the Chinese community and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii during their one-year reign in this year of the Horse; and

WHEREAS, endowed with intelligence, charming personalities and a radiant beauty, the following individuals were selected to the Narcissus Court: Queen Kuuleialoha Chun, First Princess Antalie Louie, Second Princess Sherri Seto, Third Princess Colette Ching and Fourth Princess Kaipolani Chang are thereby deserving of the special recognition for their abilities and achievements; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-first Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2002, that this body hereby recognizes and honors Queen Kuuleialoha Chun, First Princess Natalie Louie, Second Princess Sherri Seto, Third Princess Colette Ching, and Fourth Princess Kaipolani Chang for being selected as the 2002 Narcissus Festival Court, and extends to them its heartfelt aloha and best wishes for success in all future endeavors.
