A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

RELATING TO CAPITaL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE benefit of the TWENTY–FIFTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2002-2003:

1. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:

A. McKinley high school, Oahu

Design and construction to conform W building with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Design $400,000

Construction $4,600,000

Total funding $5,000,000

B. McKinley high school, Oahu

Design and construction to modernize the electrical system.

Design $300,000

Construction $1,100,000

Total funding $1,400,000

C. McKinley high school, Oahu

Construction and equipment for a double-sink in the gym concession area.

Construction $22,000

Equipment  $3,000

Total funding $25,000

D. McKinley high school, Oahu

Design and construction of cooling and ventilation fans in gym.

Design $10,000

Construction $290,000

Total funding $300,000

E. McKinley high school, Oahu

Design and construction to upgrade the physical education sports facility to provide gender equity.

Design $200,000

Construction $2,200,000

Total funding $2,400,000

F. McKinley high school, Oahu

Design and construction to modernize and replace the antiquated plumbing system.

Design $90,000

Construction $730,000

Total funding $820,000

G. Central middle school, Oahu

Design and construction to implement the facilities building program, building A.

Design $250,000

Construction $5,300,000

Total funding $5,550,000

H. Central middle school, Oahu

Design, construction, and equipment to replace and equip the cafeteria, auditorium, library, and classrooms.

Design $1,000,000

Construction $9,000,000

Equipment $1,500,000

Total funding $11,500,000

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2002.
