A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

RELATING TO PUBLIC LANDS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Section 171-6.5, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended to read as follows:

"[[]§171-6.5[]] [Unencumbered public] Public lands; penalty. Any person violating any of the rules adopted by the department pursuant to this chapter regulating unencumbered public lands [adopted by the department pursuant to this chapter] or public lands set aside under the department's jurisdiction shall be guilty of a violation and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not more than $500 for each offense."

SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
