A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

RELATING TO THE STATE WATER CODE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $4 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2001-2002 to fund the implementation of the agricultural water use and development plan in the following manner:

(1) Research and data gathering of existing

systems on Kauai, Lanai, Maui, Molokai,

Oahu, and Hawaii; $1

(2) Mapping and data compilation of existing

systems statewide; $1

(3) Inventorying existing agricultural land use

and irrigation water requirements on Kauai,

Lanai, Maui, Molokai, Oahu, and Hawaii; and $1

(4) Developing an agricultural water plan, including

mapping, reports, and tables. $1

Total Funding $4

SECTION 2. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of agriculture for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2001.
