                   A  BILL  FOR  AN  ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO MATCH FEDERAL FUNDS FOR THE
   ESTABLISHMENT OF MANUFACTURING EXTENSION PROGRAMS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 1      SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general
 
 2 revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $200,000 or so much
 
 3 thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2000-2001 for the
 
 4 establishment of manufacturing extension programs in Hawaii;
 
 5 provided that no funds shall be made available under this Act
 
 6 unless matched dollar-for-dollar out of federal funds for the
 
 7 purpose for which this sum is appropriated.
 
 8      SECTION 2.  The sum appropriated shall be expended by the
 
 9 department of business, economic development, and tourism for the
 
10 purposes of this Act.
 
11      SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2000.
