HB 12      RELATING TO SECURITIES                         EDB,CPC
        Authorizes small companies to raise capital through
        small corporate offering registration (SCOR), a
        uniform registration system that allows small
        companies to obtain equity financing by selling common
        stock directly to the public.  Defines SCOR.
        Identifies registration form to be utilized by SCOR.
        Clarifies that DCCA is to administer the SCOR program.

HB 80      RELATING TO TRADEMARKS                     EDB,CPC,FIN
        Repeals the existing trademark law (chapter 482, HRS)
        and March 3, 1881, or under the Act of February 20,
        replaces it with a new chapter based on the Revised
        Model State Trademark Bill developed by the
        International Trademark Association.

HB 81      MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A NANOTECHNOLOGY CENTER   
                                                   EDB,HED,FIN
        Appropriates funds to establish a nanotechnology
        center at the university park at the University of
        Hawaii at Hilo.


 
 
 
HB 99      RELATING TO BUSINESS                       EDB,CPC,FIN
        Requires every new business opening after the
        effective date of this Act to provide public notice of
        its name and type of business at least two weeks
        before opening.  Provides a mechanism for nonbinding
        public input.

HB 122     RELATING TO PUBLIC CONTRACTS                   EDB,FIN
        Provides that contractors who fail to comply with law
        requiring prompt payment of subcontractors in public
        contracts are ineligible to bid on future public
        contracts.  Allows contractors to enter into a
        subcontractor payment plan to be approved by the
        comptroller prior to the commencement of the work.

HB 139     RELATING TO FEDERAL CONSTRUCTION               EDB,FIN
        Defines local resident in the State procurement code.

HB 37      RELATING TO FILM PRODUCTION FUNDING            EDB,FIN
        Establishes a state revolving film fund within DBED&T;
        and appropriates moneys for documentary film
        productions relating to the Pacific region.

HB 56      RELATING TO BUSINESS                           EDB,FIN
        Establishes a business aloha team program within the
        department of business, economic development, and
        tourism.

HB 79      RELATING TO DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME               EDB,FIN
        Institutes daylight saving time in Hawaii.
