                   A  BILL  FOR  AN  ACT

RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE
   25TH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 1      SECTION 1.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall
 
 2 be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are
 
 3 hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of
 
 4 Hawaii for fiscal year 1999-2000.
 
 5 1.   To be expended by the department of accounting and general
 
 6      services:
 
 7      A.   McKinley High School, 1039 South King Street, Honolulu
 
 8           (i)  Complete the final phase of the school's
 
 9                technology plan to include electrical upgrade of
 
10                Building F (social studies) and video
 
11                accessibility for all buildings.
 
12                Plans                             $    25,000
 
13                Construction                          175,000
 
14                     Total funding                $   200,000
 
15          (ii)  Replace currently unsafe boys' physical education
 
16                lockers.
 
17                Purchase                          $   220,000
 
18                Installation                           20,000

 1         (iii)  Complete the installation of four air conditioning
 
 2                units for Building M (science).
 
 3                Purchase and installation         $   200,000

 5          (iv)  Extend the student dining room to accommodate one
 
 6                thousand two hundred to one thousand five hundred
 
 7                students in order to synchronize class schedules
 
 8                with lunch recess.

12           (v)  Remove and replace all windows in Building W
 
13                (English) due to extensive termite damage.

18                and lives of the people living there

20                Purchase and installation              40,000
 
21                     Total funding                $    50,000
 
22      SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital
 
23 projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the

 1 designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
 
 2      SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 1999.
