                   A  BILL  FOR  AN  ACT

RELATING TO GLASS CONTAINER RECOVERIES.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 1      SECTION 1.  Section 342G-85, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is
 
 2 amended by amending subsections (b) and (c) to read as follows:
 
 3      "(b)  The amount due from glass container importers less
 
 4 glass containers exported for the calendar year shall be the sum
 
 5 equal to the number of glass containers provided in subsection
 
 6 (a) multiplied by the advance disposal fee of [.015] 1.5 cents.
 
 7 Payment shall be made by check or money order payable to the
 
 8 "Department of Health, State of Hawaii".  All subsequent
 
 9 inventory reports and payments shall be made not later than the
 
10 fifteenth day of the month following the end of the previous
 
11 calendar quarter, except for those importers subject to
 
12 subsection (d).
 
13      (c)  A glass container importer who imports [less] fewer
 
14 than five thousand glass containers within a one-year period
 
15 shall be exempt from payment of the fee.
 
16      Any empty, imported glass container designed to hold not
 
17 more than two and one-half fluid ounces of a product meant for
 
18 human consumption shall be exempt from the fee."
 
19      SECTION 2.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed.
