Hawaii's Aerospace Industry: the Next Frontier
On August 21, 2008, the House Committee on Economic Development and Business Concerns and Senate Committee on Economic Development and Taxation convened "Hawaii's Aerospace Industry: the Next Frontier," a comprehensive view of Hawaii's aerospace-related initiatives.
The purpose of the informational briefing was to provide an overview of the strategic role the State of Hawaii can play as a major contributor to, and beneficiary of, the global aerospace enterprise. Guest panelists from federal and Hawaii-based aerospace agencies, institutions and leaders in emerging dual-use technologies, astronomy and planetary geosciences, next-generation aviation, space launch, and aerospace education highlighted current and future initiatives. The overview serves as a starting point for next year's government, education, civic and business sectors' action agenda.
