Two informational briefings have been scheduled for Monday, January 8, 2007 and Tuesday, January 9, 2007 to discuss the problems and issues that arose as a result of the earthquakes of October 15, 2006, and to accept comments and recommendations on a proposed disaster preparedness measure that will be introduced in the upcoming legislative session.
The following individuals or representatives have been invited to participate or to provide comments on Monday, January 8, 2007:
9:00am to 12:00noon:
Governor Linda Lingle and other administrative agencies or individuals that the Governor may designate to participate in the discussion.
1:00pm to 2:00pm:
Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA)
2:00pm to 5:00pm
University of Hawaii Professors with an expertise in natural events.
