Two informational briefings have been scheduled for Monday, January 8, 2007 and Tuesday, January 9, 2007 to discuss the problems and issues that arose as a result of the earthquakes of October 15, 2006, and to accept comments and recommendations on a proposed disaster preparedness measure that will be introduced in the upcoming legislative session.

The following individuals or representatives have been invited to participate or to provide comments on Tuesday, January 9, 2007:

9:00am to 11:00am:

Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann and other department representatives or individuals that the Mayor may designate to participate in the discussion.

11:00am to 12:00noon:

Representatives from the Association of Architects and Engineers Society (ASAE).

1:00pm to 2:00pm

Representatives from the Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) and the Hawaii Hotel and Lodging Association (HHLA).

2:00pm to 3:00pm

Representatives from Hawaiian Electric Company, Inc. (HECO).

3:00pm to 4:00pm

Representatives from the print and electronic media.

4:00pm to 5:00pm

Comments from the public on problems that they experienced following the October 15, 2007 earthquakes and flooding and landslides events.
