Re-establishes and appropriates funds to the 50th Anniversary Commemoration of the Korean War Commission.

Allows the assignment of special number plates for military service for more than one noncommercial passenger vehicle, noncommercial motorcycle, or motor scooter per applicant.

RELATING TO DRIVER LICENSE RENEWAL BY MAIL.

Allows the examiner of drivers to waive the 90-day waiting period for the driver's license examination if a new driver's license instruction permit has been issued within thirty days of the expiration date of the current permit.

RELATING TO DRIVER'S LICENSE INSTRUCTION PERMIT RENEWAL.

Distinguishes the examination, licensing and operation of mopeds from that of motor scooters and motorcycles.

RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY.

Exempts a person involved in an accident during the normal course of their employment from the security and suspension requirements of chapter 287, HRS.

RELATING TO UNATTENDED VEHICLES.

Requires notices for tow away zones to be clearly visible to the driver of a vehicle approaching any marked or unmarked parking space, or within any marked or unmarked parking space, where the vehicle is subject to being towed. (HB1746 HD1)

RELATING TO TOWING.

Increases towing fees for storage from $15 to $20 per day for the first 7 days and from $10 to $15 per day thereafter. Allows owners of towed vehicles the option to pay towing fees by cash, credit card, or automated teller machine if such a machine is located on the premises. (HB2030 HD1)
