Due to the events of September 11, 2001, the Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) has been granted $10 million in emergency funds to assist the visitor industry. In order to aid the industry with recovery efforts, the HTA and Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB) have come up with specific programs geared to help the struggling visitor industry. The purpose of this briefing is to receive an interim report (regarding upcoming events, ongoing special events/programs such as the Hawaii Value Pass, updated 2002 marketing plan, an update on plans for Pro Bowl 2002, Executive Director Search and Sports Contract update). The following are scheduled to have a representative appear:
