RELATING TO PRIVATIZATION. Requires the retraining of employees displaced by privatization or managed competition under Act 90, Session Laws of Hawaii 2001, unless the employee chooses severance, retirement, or employment transfer to the private company. (KAWAMOTO)

RELATING TO EMPLOYMENT. Requires successor employers to retain incumbent employees upon the divestiture, sale, or acquisition of a business. (NAKATA)

RELATING TO UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE. Enables certain successor companies that acquire a business to also acquire its predecessor's unemployment insurance contribution assessment rate.
