AGENDA

The State currently faces a shortfall of over $300 million over the current fiscal biennium. In addition to budget cuts, attrition has been put forward as a means to reduce expenditures without eliminating jobs. The House Finance Committee wishes to inquire why attrition has not been used by the Administration as a tool to address budget shortfalls. In order to obtain more information, the following departments have been requested to brief the Committee:

  • The Department of Human Resources Development
  • The Department of Budget and Finance
  • The Department of Education
  • The University of Hawaii
  • Department of Human Services
  • Department of Health
  • Department of Public Safety

IF YOU REQUIRE SPECIAL ASSISTANCE OR AUXILIARY AIDS AND/OR SERVICES TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PUBLIC HEARING PROCESS OF THE STATE HOUSE (I.E., SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETER, WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBILITY, OR PARKING DESIGNATED FOR THE DISABLED), PLEASE CONTACT THE COMMITTEE CLERK AT LEAST 24 HOURS PRIOR TO THE HEARING SO ARRANGEMENTS CAN BE MADE.
