REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TO JOINTLY DETERMINE WHETHER THE DIAGNOSIS OF CHILDREN WITH "ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDER" OR "ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER" IN HAWAII HAS BEEN EXCESSIVE, WHETHER HAWAII'S CHILDREN ARE BEING SUBJECTED TO EXCESSIVE USE OF PSYCHIATRIC DRUGS TO MODIFY THEIR BEHAVIOR, AND TO RESEARCH, EXAMINE, AND RECOMMEND NON-DRUG ALTERNATIVES.

ADOPTING OUTCOME INDICATORS OF WELL-BEING FOR HAWAII'S CHILDREN AND FAMILIES. Implements Act 160, SLH 1999, which stipulates that the Hawaii Performance Partnerships Board shall propose key community outcomes and Act 274, SLH 2001, Which stipulates that the Hawaii Performance Partnerships Board with assistance from the University of Hawaii at Manoa Center on the Family shall work with the state agencies to establish key indicators and data sets relevant to Hawaii's children and families. |
