RELATING TO TOURISM.

Converts the non-voting members of the Hawaii tourism authority into voting members.

relating to the hawaii tourism authority.

Requires the Hawaii tourism authority to establish a registry of groups of Hawaii residents traveling to out-of-state destinations to promote and market Hawaii as a tourist destination. Allows the authority to enter into agreements with and award grants to these groups.

RELATING TO TOURISM.

Increases the membership of the Hawaii Tourism Authority, and assigns the responsibility to market, operate, manage, and maintain the Hawaii convention center facility to the HTA. Increases, the transient accomodation tax rate by 1 per cent for every increase of 500,000 visitors over 7,500,000 until the tax rate is 10.25 per cent.

Adopts an official tartan for the State. Directs the state foundation on culture and the arts to register the tartan in Scotland.
