[§291C-116]  Street parking restrictions.  (a)  No vehicle shall be parked abutting the curb or edge of a vehicle travel way within twenty feet of a crosswalk or intersection, regardless of the presence or absence of official signs or curb markings; provided that any vehicle may be parked within the designated buffer zone if the vehicle is:

     (1)  An authorized emergency vehicle performing the functions under section 291C-26;

     (2)  An official federal, state, or county vehicle in the performance of its duty;

     (3)  A stalled or broken vehicle;

     (4)  Assisting a stalled or broken vehicle;

     (5)  Yielding to an authorized emergency vehicle pursuant to section 291C-65; or

     (6)  Otherwise authorized by law.

     (b)  Any person who violates this section shall be subject to a fine of not more than $50 for each violation.  Each day a violation occurs shall constitute a separate offense.

     (c)  All fines collected pursuant to this section shall be deposited into the safe routes to school program special fund established under section 291C-4. [L 2025, c 171, §2]
