Created by <a href="https://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/session/measure_indiv.aspx?billtype=HR&billnumber=147&year=2025">House Resolution No. 147</a> (2025) establishing a legislative working group for the continued oversight to <a href="https://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/session/archives/measure_indiv_Archives.aspx?billtype=HR&billnumber=10&year=2023">House Resolution No. 10</a> (2023), the Act 279 Working Group's purpose is to oversee the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands' execution of the funds appropriated pursuant to Act 279, Session Laws of Hawaii 2022, to address the beneficiary waitlist.
